opportunities currently exist for:

Receptionist / Moorings co-ordinator

We are currently seeking a well organised individual who enjoys interacting with the public to take over the running of our main reception area and manage moorings and hardstanding operations.

Responsibilities

Typical tasks would include:

  • Dealing with customers on a daily basis
  • Answering the phone
  • Answering emails
  • Organising the reception area, filing etc.
  • Managing mooring allocations – invoicing etc.
  • Serving customers with diesel, gas, coal, pump-outs and chandlery items.
  • Stock control and ordering of the above.

Requirements

No particular experience required and full training in marina specific operations will be given. However, previous experience in a customer facing role would be a distinct advantage

The main requirements are for someone with a friendly demeanour, strong organizational skills, and an eagerness to assist customers. Consideration will be given to both full & part-time roles and we offer good rates of pay/pension/holiday.

Workshop Technician / Trainee Technician

We are also seeking a mechanical technician or possibly a trainee technician with an interest in developing a career in the boating industry.

Responsibilities:

Typical tasks would include:

  • Inspecting jobs and diagnosing any required work
  • Discussing required repairs with customer
  • Calculating the expected time and cost of work
  • Repairing or replacing components as required
  • Fitting and servicing boat accessories, including solar panels, stoves & heaters
  • Performing service checks
  • Performing routine engine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil and air filters, as required
  • Maintaining accurate records of  work completed, time taken and parts used
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety

Requirements:

Either previous work experience as a boat engineer or a background in a similar occupation with a desire to transfer and develop new skills in the boating arena.

As a trainee, no particular past experience would be required, but candidates should be keen to learn new skills, be able to take instruction and work under guidance and have a genuine desire to forge a career within the boating industry. Full training will be given to the right candidate.
